Acura Airbag Module Reset Service
This mail-in Acura SRS airbag control module reset service is designed for drivers and collision repair shops dealing with an air bag light that is on after a crash, airbag deployment, or other SRS fault. Instead of buying a new module or a used one of unknown history, you send your original unit and we perform a professional SRS module reset. After reset, the module is restored to factory-clear condition and ready to be reinstalled — keeping your original VIN registration and avoiding costly dealer module replacement.
Many SRS modules for Acura are internally identified with various part numbers and control-unit designations (Airbag Module, Airbag ECU, SRS Control Unit, Restraint Control Module, etc.). Our reset service supports the majority of these units, especially those listed under the compatible models on this page — if uncertain, send us a clear photo of your module label for verification before checkout.
When You Need an Airbag Module Reset
This service is recommended when:
- The air bag light is persistently on after vehicle repair or airbag deployment
- Your scan tool reveals crash-data or locked SRS fault codes that will not clear
- Dealer insists on module replacement due to “locked” SRS memory
- You own a vehicle in the supported list (see below) and want a cost-effective reset
We always recommend that all mechanical and safety-critical repairs (airbags, sensors, pretensioners, wiring) be completed before sending your SRS module. This service only resets the module — it does not verify or repair airbags or seat belts. Driving with unrepaired airbags or components is unsafe and not covered under warranty.
Supported Acura Models
Our reset service currently supports many common Acura SRS modules from the following models:
- CL
- CSX
- EL / ILX
- Integra
- Legend
- MDX
- NSX
- RDX
- RL / RLX
- RSX
- SLX
- TL / TLX
- TSX
- Vigor
- ZDX
If your model is not listed, please send module photos — many more units are supported than listed.
Crash Data & Fault Codes We Clear
After reset, the following common SRS fault codes and crash-event records are erased:
- B107E — Airbag module fault
- B207F — SRS unit error
- B1015 — Faulty module memory
- B1139 — Internal SRS error
- B1193 — Airbag module stored crash data
- B1206 — RCM (Restraint Control Module) fault
- B1342 — SRS circuit fault
- B1620 or B1649 — Crash detected / stored SRS event
- B1650 — SRS crash data stored
- DF194 / “After Accident” — after-crash deployment memory
All crash data and hard codes are cleared at the EEPROM-level, effectively returning the module to a factory-clear state.
Why Reset Instead of Replace?
Replacing an airbag control module — especially at a dealership — can be costly and often requires additional VIN programming or calibration. For many Acura vehicles, our reset service provides a safe, cost-effective alternative. Resetting your original module ensures:
- Your original VIN registration stays valid
- No salvage-title or mismatch issues
- Significant savings compared to new modules
- Faster turnaround and quicker return to service

General Removal Instructions for Acura Airbag Module
Locations vary by model, but most Acura SRS modules are mounted under the center console, floor tunnel, or under front seats. Always disconnect the negative battery cable and wait several minutes before working near any SRS components.
- Slide front seats back to their rearmost position to access console / floor hardware.
- Remove center console trim, storage covers, and any panels around the shifter area.
- Locate the metal SRS control unit — it is usually bolted to the floor or tunnel.
- Disconnect all electrical connectors carefully (do not probe or apply power).
- Unbolt the unit and lift it out of the vehicle.
- Package securely for shipping, including order info, return address, and contact number.
What This Service Does — and Doesn’t Do
This reset service:
- Clears stored crash data and hard SRS fault codes from your original airbag module
- Returns the module to factory-clear memory state for reuse in the same vehicle
- Does not replace airbags, pretensioners, clocksprings, or wiring — such components must be repaired separately before reinstalling
- Does not bypass or disable SRS safety systems — after reinstalling and verifying post-repair components, the system should function normally
Turnaround Time & Warranty
Our standard in-house processing time is 2–3 business days from receipt. The repair includes a 1-year warranty on the reset itself — covering any recurrence of stored crash data or locked codes due to module memory issues (not wiring or reinstalled component faults).
